Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
The event countdown uses the system clock (Date.now()) rather than counting ticks, so it remains accurate even if the tab is backgrounded. The display updates again as soon as you return to the tab.
Can I add more than 3 event countdowns?
The tool supports up to 3 simultaneous event countdowns. For more events, bookmark this page and set up a new session.
What happens when the countdown reaches zero?
The display changes to "Expired" with a highlighted style. The timer does not loop or repeat — it stays at the expired state.
Does the quick timer play a sound when it finishes?
Currently the quick timer shows a visual alert when it expires. Browser audio requires user interaction to unlock; a future update may add an optional beep.
Is the countdown accurate to the second?
The event countdown recalculates from the system clock every second, so it is as accurate as your device's clock. It does not drift over time unlike pure tick-based counters.
